People are fabricating art, gadgets and customer models with much of the same equipment that would be used in a production facility. Many people ask, "Why does Autodesk have all that stuff?" Pier 9 is part test facility, part makerspace, part R&D operation and part playground. Less glamorous, but just as cool (to me anyway) is the industrial sewing equipment and an electronics lab. There's the 3D print shop, digital fabrication shop, woodshop, and metal shop. In addition to the test kitchen there are four main areas of the workshop. There's also a test kitchen with a commercial-grade Wolf range that I drooooooool over. Depending on the tool, training ranges from several hours to several days. To use any piece of equipment, users must be trained.
However, I happen to be a docent at Pier 9, meaning that if someone wants a tour I can take people through and show off all of the insanely cool tools that are available to Autodesk employees and Artists in Residence. My office is a few blocks away in the 1 Market Street location of Autodesk. I am going to show you the same information graphically: If you have updated to either 2014 or 2015 version of True View, the connection to Design Review no longer exists. In other words, regardless of version, if you want to open a DWG in Design Review, you must have True View installed. What many people don't realize is that Design Review really isn't doing the work, TrueView is really the program that is showing you the DWG. Design Review can open a file, allow markups and let you save as a DWF in one platform. There are still many reasons one would want to use Design Review. Going forward you can create an Autodesk 360 account and upload for viewing online. If you don't already know, Design Review 2013 is the most recent version of the viewing markup tool.

In this post, I am going to show you a workaround for this issue where users try to open a DWG in Design Review and get the error, "Opening DWG files in Design Review requires the latest version of the free DWG TrueView program be installed." But, you probably DO have TrueView installed, so what the heck?
Put nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and water in a microwavable mug (ideally, one of those Irish coffee deals). Even though this is crap booze, the sugar and spices masked the harshness.ġ pinch nutmeg (freshly grated is better)ġ shot whisky (more if you're having a rough day) It was delicious, and something about the butter and the warmth made the buzz I got especially comforting.Ī few days later, with Holiday Stress at its peak, I wanted, nay, NEEDED this drink again. They had a drink special on Hot Buttered Rum.
